Arizona Declares State of Emergency as Tunnel Wildfire Continues to Grow
Arizona has declared a State of Emergency as the Tunnel Wildfire continues to grow. Yesterday, Governor Doug Ducey declared the emergency as the Tunnel Fire has grown to over 20,000 acres as firefighters brace for increasingly windy conditions today. The emergency declaration will help officials to provide resources for people and communities impacted by the fire as nearly 800 households in the area near Flagstaff have been evacuated. Currently the fire remains 0% contained with more than 370 firefighters battling the blaze. Other fire-fighting resources on the scene include five bulldozers, 30 fire engines, one air attack plane and three helicopters. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
