Shots Fired During Attempted Robbery Leaves One Man Injured
One man was grazed in the back by a bullet and drove to the hospital to be treated. The vehicle was also damaged.
One man was shot during an attempted robbery in Lumberton.
Around 6:30pm on Sunday, police responded to N. Pine Street on reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they learned about two people who were victims of an attempted robbery. The victims were reportedly already at a hospital.
35-year-old Kenneth Harley and 37-year-old Michael Stackhouse reported they were in an SUV at a Truist Bank. They were attempting to use an ATM when they were approached by two masked men.
The men held the brothers at gunpoint attempting to rob them. Stackhouse attempted to drive away when multiple shots were fired at the SUV.
Stackhouse was grazed in the back by a bullet and drove to the hospital to be treated. The vehicle was also damaged.
The suspects have not been identified as investigators are working to learn more. Anyone with information should contact Lumberton authorities.
