Inmate Stabbed At Scotland Correctional Following String Of Incidents

The incident comes after a series of violent encounters have unfolded at Scotland Correctional. That includes a large fight that broke out.

Another inmate has been injured at the Scotland Correctional Institution following recent incidents.

On Monday, an inmate was stabbed and then taken to a hospital for treatment but, is expected to recover. The victim, however, is not cooperating with law enforcement as they work to learn what led to the assault.

The incident comes after a series of violent encounters have unfolded at Scotland Correctional. That includes a large fight that broke out between 15 inmates back in August. Five inmates suffered stab wounds or cuts in that situation.

Another inmate was stabbed in August as well, claiming it could have been gang related. And in September 45-year-old Brian Alexander, died after being assaulted by another inmate.

The Scotland County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
