Staying in South Carolina, 12 people were injured and three people were detained after a shooting at a shopping mall in Columbia on Saturday. The incident occurred at the Columbiana Center Mall and police believe the shooting was not a random act. According to Columbia Police Chief William Holbrook “We believe the individuals that were armed knew each other, and there was some type of conflict that occurred which resulted in gunfire.” Of the 12 injured, 10 received gunshot wounds and eight were transported to hospitals for treatment. The oldest shooting victim is 73 and the youngest is 15. Of the three people detained, one was arrested, he is identified as 22 year old Jewayne Price and is being charged with unlawful carrying of a pistol among other things. Two teenagers were killed and several other people were injured during a shooting at a large party in Pittsburgh early yesterday morning. The shooting took place around 12:30 a.m. and according to Pittsburgh Police Chief Scott Schubert, more than 90 rounds were fired from multiple guns both inside and outside the home. According to the Alleghany County Medical Examiners Office, both of the teenagers who were killed were 17. Eight other people were shot and five others were injured as they ran from the gunfire. As many as 200 people were at the party at a property that was rented through Airbnb. Investigators are searching for multiple suspects in the shooting, collecting evidence from as many as eight separate crime scenes and trying to determine what led up to the incident. Pittsburgh Public Schools are under a ‘modified lockdown’ today in response to the shooting and Airbnb has banned the person who booked the property where the party took place for life.
