Changes in the Works at Myrtle Beach International Airport
Changes are coming to the Myrtle Beach International Airport. Airport officials are planning to add a five-to-six gate expansion off the end of the concourse, more food options, security checkpoint improvements, more parking and an additional 100,000 gallons in fuel capacity. The project is primarily being funded through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, passenger facility charges, Horry County Department of Airports cash reserves and potentially bond financing. There’s also a separate rental-car project which is funded through customers’ contract fees that are charged when renting a vehicle.
