Jetblue Airlines to Cut One in Ten Flights During Busy Summer Season

Jetblue Airlines is cutting flights ahead of the busy summer season. According to the airline, 8 to 10% of flights starting in May through the summer will be canceled. Yesterday, Jetblue delayed or canceled one in every five flights according to FlightAware. The company cites the shortage of pilots and crew as it’s reason for scaling back. Jetblue isn’t the only airline affected by the low number of pilots and crew members as Alaska Airlines announced last week it’s reducing about 2% of their flights through the end of June and Delta Airlines pilots are protesting their schedule that they say leaves them ‘overworked.’
