Inmate Stabbed at Robeson County Detention Center

An inmate at the Robeson County Detention Center was stabbed on Saturday night… According to Major Damien McLean with the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies are in the process of gathering information about the stabbing but the victim was transferred to an ‘undisclosed medical center’ and is in ‘critical, but stable condition.’ According to McLean, the weapon used in the assault was a shank and was not ‘brought into the cell from the outside’. More information is expected soon as the investigation continues.
