Russia Shuts off Natural Gas Line to Bulgaria, Poland

The war in Ukraine continues as Russia retaliates against it’s neighboring nations. Russian State Energy Giant ‘Gazprom’ announced in a statement yesterday that it had fully halted supplies to Polish Gas Company PGNiG and Bulgaria’s Bulgargaz after they refused to meet a demand by Moscow to pay in rubles rather than euros or dollars. The European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen accused Russia of trying to ‘blackmail’ the bloc after the shutdown and was said to be coordinating a response among EU member states.
