Could Whiskey Become the Fuel of the Future?

A scientist used a fermentation process to transform the by-product into bio-chemicals to replace some oil based products.

A biofuel scientist has discovered a way to use the by-products of whiskey to fuel your car. According to Zero Waste Scotland, for every liter of whiskey made, there is a huge amount of waste. The solid by-product of the liquor is called Draff. Some is used for animal feed, some goes to a landfill or is dumped in rivers and even the ocean. This scientist used a fermentation process to transform the by-product into bio-chemicals to replace some oil based products…including diesel used in our cars. There are already whiskey fueled cars in Scotland.
