Hartsville Man Sentenced to 40 Years Behind Bars

A man from Hartsville was sentenced in connection to a deadly shooting at an apartment complex in 2020. Darby Jones was sentenced to 40 years for the murder charge, five years for the possession of a weapon during a violent crime, five years for grand larceny and one year for the unlawful carrying of a pistol, all of which he will serve concurrently. Jones has no possibility of parole and will get credit for 800 days of time served.
