Shootings Occurred Across The Nation This Weekend Including One in South Carolina
Investigations have begun after gun violence was on the rise in the U.S. over the weekend. Six people were shot and a dozen were injured when multiple shooters opened fire in downtown Sacramento around 2 a.m. yesterday morning. Three of the deceased are men, and three are women, their identities have not been revealed and none of the suspects are currently in custody. The events unfolded after a fight broke out prior to the shooting.
And in Dallas Texas, one person was killed and at least 10 others were wounded at a concert on Saturday night. Police responded to the scene and learned of multiple victims including three juveniles who were shot while attending the event. The deceased victim, a 26 year old was found lying near the stage and died at the scene.
Another shooting happened outside a mall in Virginia on Saturday. Officers were called to the MacArthur Center in Norfolk around 6 p.m. and found one person dead and two others injured. According to officers, that shooting stemmed from an argument over money and police are looking for a suspect and person of interest.
The final shooting we’re covering happened here in the Palmetto State when five people were injured on Friday night in Colleton County. The victims included four males and one female ages 17 to 33. They were all taken to the hospital for further treatment, one is in critical but stable condition. It is unclear what led to them shooting at each other or if arrests have been made but SLED is investigating.
