Russian Spacecraft Carrying NASA Astronaut Mark Vande Hei Lands in Kazakhstan

A Russian spacecraft carrying NASA Astronaut Mark Vande Hei and two Cosmonauts touched down in Kazakhstan this morning. The craft undocked from the International Space Station at 3:21 a.m. and landed on Earth at 7:28 a.m. according to NASA’s Mission Control Center in Houston. A team of doctors and staff was on site for the touchdown and immediately planned on returning to Texas with Vande Hei. He began his trip to space on April 9, 2021 and has been on the International Space Station for the past 355 days which is the longest single stretch any American has ever spent in Space.
