Lake City Teacher Resigns After Being Charged With Violent Behavior Toward Students

A Lake City teacher has resigned after being charged with alleged violent behavior toward two students. Stacy Sims was a teacher at Lake City Early Childhood Center on March 9th when she allegedly kicked one student during class in an incident that was witnessed by the school’s principle who was walking into the classroom at the time according to warrants. Sims is also accused of grabbing another student ‘by the arm and snatching him from her classroom down the hall to the counselor’s office’. That incident left ‘scratches and redness’ on the student’s arms and was recorded by security cameras. Sims was placed on administrative leave by Florence School District 3 and later resigned in lieu of being fired. Her teaching certificate has also been suspended. Sims was booked at the Florence County Detention Center but later released on bond.
