Over the weekend, windy conditions fueled a wildfire that spread over 400 acres in the Loris area. Fortunately, the blaze has been contained by Horry County Fire Rescue. There have been no reports of injuries and no structures have been damaged. HCFR was still closely monitoring the fire yesterday morning with help from the South Carolina Division of Forestry. Officials say smoke is expected to linger in the area for an extended amount of time.
