Increased Funding for Flood Victims Proposed by Congressman Tom Rice

More relief for flood victims in the 7th District is in the works.

More relief for flood victims in the 7th District is in the works. U.S. Congressman Tom Rice proposed a bill yesterday to increase the amount of compliance coverage limits. Rice proposed they be raised from $30,000 up to $100,000. The act would also increase the cap of FEMA, making flood victims eligible for up to $350-thousand. Rice noted the last raise limit was two decades ago. The increase in coverage would give relief to homeowners who do not want to leave their waterfront properties, which sit on a large flood plain in the 7th District.
