House Committee Looking at Texts Between Mark Meadows and Virginia “Ginni” Thomas

They reportedly took place between early November of 2020 and mid-January of 2021.

The House Committee investigating the January 6th insurrection is looking at text messages between the former White House Chief of Staff and a conservative activist. A source familiar with the messages say they are between Mark Meadows and Virginia “Ginni” Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. They reportedly took place between early November of 2020 and mid-January of 2021. Thomas had attended the pro-Trump rally that preceded the capitol attack on January 6th but she has said she played no role in planning the events of that day. Some legal experts say Ginni Thomas’ activism could pose a potential conflict of interest for Justice Thomas. Though she says she distances her activity from her husband. Meadows had turned over thousands of text messages before he stopped cooperating with the committee.
