North Carolina Testing Medical Supply Drones

North Carolina residents could soon see drones carrying blood and other medical supplies to hospitals and clinics. The North Carolina DOT is working with medical officials at Wake Med to try and use drone technology to help save lives. The commercial use of drones has been limited by federal safety rules that require drone pilots to be able to see their craft while they’re flying. NCDOT is hoping to receive approval from the Federal Aviation Administration to allow drones with medical supplies to fly past the line of sight.
