DNA Found Near Kirk Assassination Matches Shooter Suspect
Authorities in Utah are preparing to file capital murder charges against Tyler Robinson.
DNA found on the rifle found near where conservative activist Charlie Kirk was assassinated matched that of the 22-year-old accused shooter.
Investigators have also used DNA to link Tyler Robinson, with a screwdriver recovered from the rooftop where the fatal shot was fired.
Robinson is set to appear in court Tuesday. Authorities in Utah are preparing to file capital murder charges against Robinson in connection to the killing of the political figure.
31-year-old Kirk was the co-founder of Turning Point USA, as well as an ally of President Trump. He was shot last Wednesday during a Q&A event at Utah Valley University. The shooting has raised fears about increasing political violence in the U.S..
