A 17-year-old has been charged in connection to the murder of a juvenile, nearly two years later.
On September 1, 2024, 13-year-old Jaiden Smalls was shot and killed at a home on Terrace View Court in Myrtle Beach.
Erik Smalls, Jaiden’s brother, allegedly shot Jaiden in the face with a Glock 17 9mm pistol. He then fired several rounds out of the bedroom window of the home. Investigators reported the situation as a drive-by shooting.
Erik then attempted to destroy evidence by flushing shell casings down a toilet and hiding a firearm in a dishwasher.
Erik was arrested on Sunday and charged with one count of murder. He awaits pre-trial at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center without bond.
