Former Yankee Star Brett Gardner’s Son’s Cause Of Death Investigation
Miller's initial cause of death was presumed to be asphyxiation after a possible intoxication tied to food.
Former Yankees star Brett Gardner’s teenage son’s cause of death is still under investigation.
14-year-old Miller Gardner died on March 21. His body was found in a hotel room in Costa Rica where he was vacationing with family members. He reportedly died peacefully in his sleep.
Miller’s initial cause of death was presumed to be asphyxiation after a possible intoxication tied to food. However, further testing revealed that the room he stayed in had high levels of carbon monoxide.
The director of Costa Rica’s judicial investigation agency said “it’s possible the teenager could have died from breathing in these gases that are so dangerous.”
The lethal gas could have possibly come from a “specialized machine room” located next to the family’s hotel room. An investigation remains active to learn more.
