Republican-led state lawmakers across the Nation have sought to restrict the procedure after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade last year.
North Carolina’s Republican-led General Assembly moved to ban most abortions after 12 weeks, voting to override a veto from Democratic Governor Roy Cooper. The state House voted 72 to 48 after the Senate voted 30 to 20.
