Minneapolis Teachers on Strike After Failing to Reach Deal

Educators in Minneapolis are on strike. The strike began after an attempt to reach a deal between teachers and Minneapolis Public Schools failed and classes were cancelled indefinitely for more than 30,000 students. The Minneapolis Federation of Teachers and Education Support Professionals are seeking a ‘living wage’ for education support professionals, seeking to ‘lower class sizes and for safe and stable schools.’ According to it’s website, the district has 31,598 students, 3,266 teachers and 1,223 education support professionals
