U.S. And South Korea Draw Back Joint Military Exercises
The draw back also comes after Trump said South Korea should be doing their own exercises and the U.S. should not be paying for them.
The U.S. and South Korea have significantly scaled back major joint military exercises.
The move comes after Seoul declined to support U.S. operations against Iran. It also comes just three days after Secretary of State Marco Rubio called South Korea an “indispensable partner” and said the allies had entered a “historic new era” of cooperation following Trump’s state visit to Seoul last fall.
The draw back also comes after Trump said South Korea should be doing their own exercises and the U.S. should not be paying for them. However, North Korea says the U.S. decision to draw back military exercises with South Korea doesn’t change anything.
