Two Arrested After Woman Says She Was Shot While Walking Dog

The woman said she was walking her dog on Church Street near Rosenwald Elementary School in the Society Hill area.

Two people have been arrested in connection to an incident where a woman said she was shot while walking her dog.

The incident unfolded around 7:30am on Aug. 7. The woman said she was walking her dog on Church Street near Rosenwald Elementary School in the Society Hill area.

The woman said a vehicle drove past her, turned around, and returned to the area. She was shot in the thigh and the vehicle fled the scene. She was hospitalized but has since been released.

50-year-old Tonya Hatcher has been arrested and charged with filing a false police report and obstruction of justice. 26-year-old Devonta Pack was also arrested and charged with accessory after the fact and domestic violence assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.

The pair are scheduled to make an appearance in Darlington County General Sessions Court on Oct. 7.
