Georgetown County Road To Temporarily Close For Repairs

The work is expected to be complete by the end of October.

A highway in Georgetown County will soon be temporarily closed for repairs.

SC 261 over Penny Royal Creek will be closed for culvert repairs starting September 16.

Travelers will be detoured to Choppee Road and Carvers Bay Road.

261 will only be open to local traffic during the closure, except at the bridge site.

The work is expected to be complete by the end of October.

If you cannot avoid the area, you asked to drive with caution, pay extra attention and slow down when driving near crews.
