Easter shopping and spending this year is expected to reach a near-record level. The National Retail Federation says in an analytics survey that consumers are expected to spend about 22-point-four billion dollars to celebrate the season. That total would be the second-highest ever. Last year, consumers spent a record 24-billion dollars on Easter shopping, thanks to a late calendar day of the holiday. Food, clothing, gifts, candy and flowers are expected to lead the way in purchases. The survey says consumers plan to spend an average of 177-dollars and six cents per person.
