Nearly 13-Foot, 600-Pound Alligator Caught On Waccamaw River

The group spent around two hours battling the nearly 13-foot, 600-pound alligator before finally bringing the reptile in.

A group of hunters caught a large alligator along the Waccamaw River.

John Caulder was hunting with his son, Kelly, and their friend, Josh Bumgarner when they caught the gator in the water between Georgetown and Myrtle Beach.

The group spent around two hours battling the nearly 13-foot, 600-pound alligator before finally bringing the reptile in.

The men said they’ve caught gators before, but this is the biggest one and took the most struggle. They plan to have a mount made and kept meat from its tail.
