Japan Won The World Baseball Classic Final Against USA
Japan's Shohei Ohtani, who batted .435 and pitched to a 1.86 ERA, was named the tournament's most valuable player.
After winning all seven games in the tournament, Japan won the World Baseball Classic on Tuesday night.
In a battle against team USA, Japan took the championship game win with a final score of 3-2.
The game ended in dramatic fashion with Japan’s Shohei Ohtani striking out his MLB teammate Mike Trout to obtain Japan’s third title.
Ohtani, who batted .435 and pitched to a 1.86 ERA, was named the tournament’s most valuable player.
The championship game was played at loanDepot Park in Miami.
The next version of the World Baseball Classic is set to be held in 2026 at sites to be determined.
