CDC Updates Covid Guidance
It also no longer suggests people stay at least six feet away from others.
The CDC is doing away with many of the recommendations put in place for the pandemic. The agency released new guidelines yesterday, ending its recommendation of quarantining after an exposure to covid-19. It also no longer suggests people stay at least six feet away from others to reduce the risk of exposure. For schools, the CDC removed the guideline that suggests students who may have been exposed to covid test negative regularly to remain in class. The CDC cites high vaccination rates and the number of people who have already contracted covid as a reason for the change. It says it’s now focused on protecting people from severe illness due to the virus. The new guidelines suggest contact tracing should be limited to hospitals and places where high-risk groups live such as nursing homes.
