A Settlement In The Fatal Folly Beach Crash Awaits Judge’s Approval

Jamie Komoroski was speeding and driving under the influence when she struck a golf cart resulting in a S.C. bride's death and left her new groom with serious bodily injuries.

A settlement is awaiting approval from a judge in the case of the Folly Beach crash that left an S.C. bride deceased on her wedding night.

34-year-old Samantha Miller had just left her wedding reception on a golf cart that was also carrying her new husband and two family members. Jamie Komoroski was speeding and driving under the influence when she struck the golf cart resulting in Miller’s death and left her new groom, Aric Hutchinson, with serious bodily injuries.

The pending settlement is between Miller’s estate and Hutchinson, and defendants The Crab Shack, The Folly Deli, the Drop in Bar and Deli and Progressive Northern Insurance Company. Others involved include Snapper Jacks and El Gallo Bar and Grill.

The establishments allegedly served Komoroski that day as she was bar hopping. The businesses have agreed to settle under the South Carolina Wrongful Death Act and Survival Act.
