China is set to reopen its borders to tourists and resume issuing visas on Wednesday.
China is one of the last major countries to reopen their borders to tourists after a three-year halt during the COVID-19 pandemic. As of Wednesday, all types of visas will resume.
Visa-free entry will also resume at destinations such as Hainan Island and cruise ships entering Shanghai that did not require a visa before COVID-19, can once again do so.
Foreigners that have visas issued before March 28th of 2020, are still valid to enter as well.

The relaxing of visa rules is a part of China’s plan to ‘get back to normal’.
