Microsoft Retires The Internet Explorer Browser

For nearly three decades, Internet Explorer fell behind and grew outdated which is what led Microsoft to the retirement decision.

Fans of Internet Explorer will have to explore other options.

Microsoft officially disabled Internet Explorer for desktops. The browser was launched in 1995 for Windows devices and had a total of 11 versions and the last one was released a decade ago.

In 2015 it was announced that Microsoft Edge would be the new default browser for Windows 10. All devices that attempt to open the terminated browser will now be immediately directed to the Microsoft Edge web instead.
