Human Remains Found In Trash Identified As Woman Missing Since 2024
The remains were identified as 43-year-old LaShaunda Spurlock, who had been missing out of Chesterfield County since 2024.
The Marlboro County Coroner’s Office has identified human remains that were found in a trash receptacle in April.
The remains were found on April 23 at the Evergreen Court Apartments in Bennettsville. They were identified as 43-year-old LaShaunda Spurlock, who had been missing out of Chesterfield County since 2024.
Just days after she was found, Bennettsville police arrested Luke Douglas Jr., after he admitted to putting Spurlock’s decomposed body in a storage area within the apartment he lived in prior to disposing of the remains.
Douglas is believed to have been the last person to see her. The investigation remains active.
