Former Horry County Deputy Steven Flood Found Guilty in Drowning Deaths

Former Horry County Deputy Stephen Flood was found guilty yesterday on all charges in the role he played in the drowning deaths of two mental health patients. Flood is one of two people charged in connection to the deaths of Wendy Newton and Nicolette Green who were killed on September 18th, 2018 when the van they were in became submerged in floodwater on Highway 76 in Marion County. Flood was charged with two counts of reckless homicide and two counts of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to 18 years behind bars. Deputy Joshua Bishop who is also involved in the drownings will be tried at a later date.
