Karine Jean-Pierre to Replace Jen Psaki as White House Press Secretary

Yesterday, it was announced that Karine Jean-Pierre will become the new White House Press Secretary when current Press Secretary Jen Psaki exits her position next Friday. Jean-Pierre will become the first Black out LGBTQ+ person to hold the position and currently serves as the White House’s Principle Deputy Press Secretary. Last May, she became the second Black woman in history to hold the daily press briefing and has served on the White House’s senior communications team since Biden took office. Before that, she was an adviser to his campaign and Chief of Staff to current Vice President Kamala Harris.
