According to the United Nations, more than 2.5 million Ukrainians have fled their country in the past two weeks during the Russian invasion. UN Refugee Agency Commissioner Filippo Grandi said yesterday that it was the ‘fastest growing refugee crisis in Europe since World War II’ and is reminiscent of the 2015 migrant crisis in Syria. In addition to those who have fled the nation all together, countless others have relocated to the western part of the country away from the front lines.
In other news, Russia has reportedly asked China for military support including drones and economic assistance. The requests came after the invasion and China’s reaction is unknown but they responded though both Chinese and Russian governments have publicly denied the request has happened.
