Lawmakers in D.C. Expected to Introduce Massive Bill As Early As Tomorrow

Democratic lawmakers on Capitol Hill are planning to introduce a massive bill as soon as tomorrow that would extend government funding through the end of September among other things. The legislation, if approved, would also include $10 billion to help bolster Ukraine and sources say Democrats and Republicans are expected to clash over Covid-19 relief money that’s also expected to be included in the package. Negotiations will take place this week as lawmakers are approaching the March 11th deadline when government funding expires. Lawmakers are expected to avoid the shutdown but if the package isn’t passed, they could be forced to pass another short term stop-gap funding bill instead.
