Europe’s Largest Nuclear Plant Attacked by Russian Troops

The war in Ukraine continues. Early this morning, Russian troops opened fire at the largest nuclear plant in Europe and started a fire which sparked concerns of another nuclear disaster similar to Chernobyl. Ukraine’s Nuclear Authority has since announced that the fire has been put out and that the power units remain in tact and no changes in radiation were detected. The agency did not provide details on the number of fatalities or injures but the site is still occupied by military forces.

After an interview last night, South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham tweeted that “the only way this ends is for somebody in Russia to take this guy out,” referring to Vladimir Putin and added “you would be doing your country — and the world — a great service.” He also said that only the Russian people can fix the situation. On Wednesday, Graham announced his plan to propose a bill to address Russia’s actions.
