Horry County Schools Updates Covid-19 Protocol
Horry County Schools announced new Covid-19 protocols yesterday that are effective immediately. The new rules will discontinue all Covid-19 contact tracing, quarantines and the Test-to-Stay program in accordance with guidelines issued by South Carolina DHEC issued on Tuesday. In the updated guidelines, only students who receive a positive test result must isolate at home for a minimum of 5 days and once they are symptom free they can return to school on day 6 if they wear a mask for days 6 through 10. Parents of students who receive a positive test should submit the test results to the school so they can code the student’s absence correctly. Parents also no longer need to submit negative Covid-19 test results to the school. The guidelines will remain in place unless the school has 10% or more students and staff absent due to positive tests or symptoms of the virus.
