Former Minnesota Police Officer Kim Potter Sentenced for Murder of Daunte Wright

Former Minnesota Police Officer Kim Potter has been sentenced for the murder of Daunte Wright. Potter received two years in prison although prosecutors were seeking more than seven years for the former officer who said she mistakenly drew her gun instead of her taser when she fatally shot 20 year old Wright during a traffic stop in April of last year. She is required to serve 2/3 of her sentence in prison, with good behavior she will be eligible for supervised release for he remainder. In December she was convicted of first and second degree manslaughter.
