David Ortiz Elected Into the National Baseball Hall of Fame
Yesterday, the National Baseball Hall of Fame elected former Red Sox player David Oritz into its Hall of Honor. Ortiz played six seasons for the Minnesota Twins and joined the Red Sox in 2003 at the age of 27. He was the World Series MVP in 2013 and helped the Sox win the World Series in 2004 and 2007. After his accomplishments, he announced his retirement in 2016. Two former stars notably did not make it into the Hall of Fame this year, Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens. This was their last year of eligibility but, rumors of performance-enhancing drugs appear to have lost them the honor. Both Bonds and Clemens are now no longer eligible for election into the Hall of Fame.
