Woman Charged In Connection To Death Of A Child

The child suffered a "bilateral subdural hematoma, a large hematoma on the center of the forehead, and bruising about the face and body."

One woman is facing charges in connection to the death of a child.

The child was pronounced deceased on March 20 at a medical center in Florence. The 2-year-old reportedly died from blunt force trauma. They suffered a “bilateral subdural hematoma, a large hematoma on the center of the forehead, and bruising about the face and body.”

An investigation revealed that two other children who lived in the same household had suffered prior injuries and broken bones which were not explained.

22-year-old Makiah Long was arrested and charged with homicide by child abuse and two counts of unlawful conduct toward a child.
