Governor McMaster Announces Proposal to Widen I-26

This morning Governor McMaster held a press conference to discuss major infrastructure plans headed to the Palmetto State. McMaster announced the proposal to widen I-26 from Columbia to Charleston. the first phase in the decade long project will start next year while the other 2 phases will begin in 2023 and be followed by sequences over the following 7 years. mcmaster was joined by secretary of transportation christy hall and state business leaders at the event near lexington county.
