Residents in Florida are flocking to get vaccinated.

Residents in Florida are flocking to get vaccinated after the state set a case record over the weekend. The Sunshine State set a one day state record on Saturday with 22,000 new positive covid-19 cases. The state followed it up by setting another new record yesterday as more than 10,200 people were admitted to hospitals. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the previous record of 10,170 hospitalizations was from July 23rd of last year. From Jacksonville to Miami to Tampa and Tallahassee, hospitals have become overwhelmed. Florida is averaging 15 thousand new cases a day and with school starting, the state is one of many continuing to debate mask mandates. Florida Governor Ron Desantis, who has spoken out against mask mandates, signed an executive order on Friday giving parents the choice between masks and no masks.
