Tokyo Olympics: Team USA Swimmers Win Gold Medals, Break Records

Swimmers for Team USA are making a lasting impression at the Tokyo Olympics. Caleb Dressel won his first individual gold medal in the 100 meter freestyle race yesterday with a final time of 47.02 seconds breaking an olympic record. He had previously earned three relay gold medals including men’s 4×100 meter freestyle relay earlier in the week. Dressel still has to compete in the 100-meter butterfly, mixed medley relay, 50-meter freestyle and men’s medley relay.

Another swimmer on Team USA Bobby Finke also took home a gold medal after competing in the 800-meter freestyle and broke a new American record with a time of 7:41:47. For the woman, Katie Ledecky led the U.S. relay 4 by 200 meter freestyle. Good news for them, they broke the world record but bad news…so did China and Australia. China took gold, the U.S. took silver and Australia earned bronze.
