Group Shoots Fireworks, Paintballs At MBPD Cruisers

Yesterday, Myrtle Beach police were called to the corner of Hemingway Street and Graham Avenue in response to an ongoing issue of fireworks. An officer responding to the scene made contact with a group of people outside of the residence and asked them to stop due to the number of people calling in complaints. The group agreed and the officer circled the block. Once the officer made it back to the residence, the people were seen setting off fireworks again so the officer spoke with the group and they said it wasn’t them. The group became belligerent towards the officer and he called in back up. At one point, fireworks were fired at three MBPD cruisers and the group opened fire on other vehicles with paintball markers. Eventually people at the residence started leaving and fireworks ceased.
