Things That Could Be Bringing Snakes to Your Home
What attracts them to your house.
If you don’t want to find an unwanted visitor in your space, there are some habits to avoid when it comes to your home! Just to be clear…we’re talking about snakes. Believe it or not, using stones in your landscaping can attract them. They may give your home aesthetic appeal, but if they’re positioned directly against your house, it may make your home more attractive to the reptiles.
Also, shrubbery may be great for adding some much-needed color to your space. But, that dense vegetation provides the perfect cover. Because the plants are secluded, it allows them the ability to hide from predators and allows them to hide while hunting.
Also, check for cracks in your foundation. If you’ve been putting off fixing them, you might want to make it a priority as one expert says snakes can get into your home through a gap the size of a pencil. Plus, drainage areas are a perfect entry point.
You can even find them in your bird bath! They need water to survive and that’s an easy access spot for them so, you might be more careful and aware of surrounding when you approach it for cleaning or changing out the water.
