Woman Escapes Police Custody in Hartsville

A woman escaped police custody after being arrested in Hartsville yesterday. Kelli Weaver was arrested and charged with third-degree assault and battery, escape and resisting arrest. According to a report, police were called to Creighton Street for a possible assault. When they arrived an officer heard yelling coming from the backyard and identified Weaver as the person doing the yelling. The officer told her to be quiet but she resisted and continued to yell so police placed her in handcuffs. The victim told officers Weaver was arguing with her about some clothes, headbutted her and started swinging. Police say she had minor bleeding on her arm and elbow where she was hit. After being led to the cruiser, Weaver escaped and went down a trail in the woods. Officers found her walking back to the house and placed her under arrest again. She is being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center.
