Biden Returns to D.C. Following First International Trip and Summit With Putin
President Biden has returned to Washington D.C. following his summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The leaders met yesterday in Geneva following months of planning and preparation. Following the series of short meetings which lasted about three hours in total, the leaders held press conferences separately. During Biden’s he said he talked with the Russian President about election meddling and human rights which former President Trump often downplayed or ignored in his meetings with Putin, as well as many other topics. Putin acknowledged the meeting was constructive and said “I think both sides manifested a determination to try and understand each other and try and converge our positions.” One accomplishment from the meeting is the return of ambassadors to both countries.
