Trump Facing More Legal Challenges After Acquittal

Over the weekend it was announced that former President Trump was acquitted for a second time.
The vote was 43 not guilty to 57 guilty as seven republicans sided with democrats. On Saturday democrats were joined by five republicans in a brief effort to call witnesses, including representative Jaime Herrera Beutler of Washington. But, instead of moving forward with witnesses, a written statement from Herrera Beutler went on record, allowing the impeachment trial to proceed toward Trump’s acquittal.
Even though the impeachment trial came to an end, the former President is still facing legal challenges. Trump is facing at least two investigations in Georgia, including one about the former President’s phone call pressuring Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to find votes to overturn his election loss. Another is by the Fulton County District Attorney’s office, looking into Trump’s alleged efforts to “influence the administration of the 20-20 Georgia General Election.” Also, there are multiple criminal and civil probes in New York, investigating Trump’s properties as well as alleged insurance and tax fraud.
